The economy is stressing out executives like Victoria King. Her solution: Exercise, exercise, exercise. Ms. King, the 49-year-old president and founder of a public relations company in Los Angeles, often fits two, hour-long workouts into her busy day."It's come down to survival of the fittest," she says. "In this weird, stressful economy you need to invest in your health. The only thing keeping me sane is my boot camp," she says referring to one of the many group exercise classes she takes.
To stay challenged in her workout, Ms. King is constantly mixing up her routine. She currently juggles Pilates, yoga, spin class, boot camp and cycling. "I keep a bulletin board in my kitchen and print outs in my car of the various exercise class schedules to keep it all straight," she says.Ms. King's company represents about a dozen luxury hotels worldwide and she travels frequently for work. In the past three weeks she has been to Dubai, Jordan, Palm Beach, Fla., and New York City. She makes about a dozen long haul trips each year and travels to New York nearly twice a month,
Usually staying two days and taking the red-eye back. She tries to keep up her twice-a-day routine when she's on the road.Ms. King has even brought resistance bands on the plane. "No one gives you a hard time," she says. "They just look at you like you're crazy."Ms. King, 49, is divorced and lives with her 12-year-old daughter in Santa Monica, Calif. Her office is in west L.A. She is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 126 pounds.
