Technology development

The distinction between science, engineering and technology is not always clear. Science is the reasoned investigation or study of phenomena, aimed at discovering enduring principles among elements of the phenomenal world by employing formal techniques such as the scientific method. Technologies are not usually exclusively products of science, because they have to satisfy requirements such as utility, usability and safety.

Engineering is the goal-oriented process of designing and making tools and systems to exploit natural phenomena for practical human means, often (but not always) using results and techniques from science. The development of technology may draw upon many fields of knowledge, including scientific, engineering, mathematical, linguistic, and historical knowledge, to achieve some practical result.

Technology is often a consequence of science and engineering — although technology as a human activity precedes the two fields. For example, science might study the flow of electrons in electrical conductors, by using already-existing tools and knowledge. This new-found knowledge may then be used by engineers to create new tools and machines, such as semiconductors, computers, and other forms of advanced technology. In this sense, scientists and engineers may both be considered technologists; the three fields are often considered as one for the purposes of research and reference.

The exact relations between science and technology in particular have been debated by scientists, historians, and policymakers in the late 20th century, in part because the debate can inform the funding of basic and applied science. In immediate wake of World War II, for example, in the United States it was widely considered that technology was simply "applied science" and that to fund basic science was to reap technological results in due time. An articulation of this philosophy could be found explicitly in Vannevar Bush's treatise on postwar science policy, Science—the Endless Frontier: "New products, new industries, and more jobs require continuous additions to knowledge of the laws of nature... This essential new knowledge can be obtained only through basic scientific research." In the late-1960s, however, this view came under direct attack, leading towards initiatives to fund science for specific tasks (initiatives resisted by the scientific community). The issue remains contentious—though most analysts resist the model that technology simply is a result of scientific research.

Macromedia

In January 1995, Macromedia acquired Altsys for its intellectual property; in particular, FreeHand, a page layout and vector drawing program very similar to Adobe Illustrator. FreeHand's vector graphics rendering engine and other software components within the program would prove useful to Macromedia in the development of technologies to support its web strategy.

To jumpstart its web strategy further, the company made two acquisitions in 1996. First, Macromedia acquired FutureWave Software, makers of FutureSplash Animator, an animation tool originally designed for pen-based computing devices. Because of the small size of the FutureSplash viewer application, it was particularly suited for download over the Web, where most users, at the time, had low-bandwidth connections. Macromedia renamed Splash to Macromedia Flash, and following the lead of Netscape, distributed the Flash Player as a free browser plugin in order to quickly gain market share.

Also in 1996, Macromedia acquired iBand Software, makers of the fledgling Backstage HTML authoring tool and application server. Macromedia developed a new HTML authoring tool, Macromedia Dreamweaver, around portions of the Backstage codebase and released the first version in 1997. At the time, most professional web authors preferred to code HTML by hand using text editors because they wanted full control over the source.

Macromedia continued on the M&A trail and, in December 1999, it acquired traffic analysis software company Andromedia Corporation. Web development company Allaire was acquired in 2001 and Macromedia added several popular server and Web development products to its portfolio, including ColdFusion, a web application server based on the CFML language, JRun, a J2EE application server, and HomeSite, an HTML code editor that was also bundled with Dreamweaver.

ActiveX activation problem and solutions

If you use Internet Explorer, you may recently have noticed some strange and mysterious rectangle outlines surrounding many Web browser components such as Flash, Quicktime, and Media Player movies. Upon attempting to interact with these components, a message appears saying that you must click to activate and use the control. When you do so, the outline disappears and the functionality of the component returns to normal. You probably noticed these outlines on some of your favorite Websites, but perhaps they even appeared on your own site. You may possibly still wonder why these outlines are there, what they are for, and if you can do anything about them.

The origin of these outlines can be traced back to a lawsuit filed by Eolas Technologies against Microsoft for automatically invoking some external applications in internet explorer. Eolas claimed that this constituted a patent infringement. In a nutshell, the lawsuit said that Microsoft was illegally using browser technology relating to plug-ins. Since Microsoft lost the lawsuit, it was forced to find a workaround the issue in order to continue using the plug-ins, but without infringing any patents.

This workaround recently materialized, thanks to a windows update for internet explorer, and it prevents direct interaction with ActiveX controls loaded with the APPLET, EMBED or OBJECT elements. Thus, an extra step—clicking on the ActiveX control or a warning message—needs to be taken before you can fully interact with your favorite browser applications such as Flash and QuickTime. Although Microsoft’s solution does not prevent any Web applications from running smoothly, many people and companies view this additional step as a nuisance.

After all, many Websites are composed of dozens of pages now requiring ActiveX activations—sometimes several per page—and this can add up to a lot of clicking. As a result, solutions to bypass these modifications have started to appear. For example, Microsoft has recommended several ways to modify the content of HTML pages to prevent having to first activate the interactive content, and Adobe offers manual suggestions and software updates which allow users to interact with their content instantly.

GOAL ACHIEVEMENT

Christopher Columbus could not have reached the American shores if he did not set out with the conviction of viability of his plan to sail westward to reach India. The hazardous voyage through unknown waters did not deter him, for the determined end he perceived was clear to him. The Indian sub-continent was his destination and westward was his sight. Providence, or we might say a higher will, landed him on the New Continent. Columbus earned greater fortunes than the anticipated treasures of Asia.

To achieve anything, whether mundane or unearthly, the primary and crucial step is to set out with a clear-cut goal or goals before us. No one has ever hit the mark without taking an aim. Even when the pathways are not clear to us, the destination must be clear. There are goals as varied as human nature, but we can classify them in the order of significance or value calculated to give meaning and purpose to human existence. Motivational psychology has also tried to classify human goals.

In terms of men psychobiological needs and drives. For most men the instant drive is toward his so-called primary goals which cater to his immediate personal needs. They do not directly subscribe to the ultimate goal of man's endeavor as acknowledged in the highest tradition of supreme achievement. This first category obviously covers health, education, good social relationship, finance, career, etc. Once these are satisfied, there may arise "higher" needs.

Thus a second category of goal crystallizes. The life energy is now directed to achieving efficiency and excellence which could ensure satisfaction derived from personal development. The intelligent and well-informed people are geared to the second category of goal, viz., self-development and achieving distinction in one's own field of end eavour. But these fall short of the "Highest" possibilities awaiting human evolution.

Traditional Indian Clothing

Indians express themselves a great deal through their clothing. Their spiritual quest for perfection plays a role in their choices of beautifully colored, dramatic, and flowing garments. The styles speak to the spirit with sumptuous, vibrant colors woven into the intricate and ornate designs to be found resonating throughout India. The saree is an extremely versatile garment.

It simply consists of a single, rectangular piece of material, five to six yards in length, accommodating any size. The style, color, and texture of this material vary according to region and caste. Different draping styles convey the status, age, occupation, region, and/or religion of the wearer. Choli The tightly fitted complimentary colored, short blouse worn under a saree is a choli.

Originally, cholis only covered the front, now they have evolved to include versions covering front and back to midriff. The traditional form is still commonly worn in Rajastan. Lehanga This is a pleated skirt worn mostly in Rajasthan. Worn with a choli, it is secured at the waist, leaving the back and midriff bare. A length of fine cotton called a dupatta completes the ensemble, covering the head.

Salwar-Kameez Started as an alternative dress form in Kashmir and Punjab, it has grown in popularity all over India, especially with younger women. Salwars are pajama-like trousers gathered at the waist and ankles, worn underneath a long, loose tunic known as a kameez.
Lungi Traditional men’s clothing in India consists solely of a lungi or dhoti. A lungi is a short length of material worn around the thighs like a sarong, while a dhoti is simply a longer lungi with an extra piece of material drawn up between the legs.

GOAL SETTING EASY STEPS

If you follow the 7 goal setting steps I've outlined in this article you will be well on your way to becoming an expert in building the road maps to your goals. make sure the goal you are working for is something you really want, not just something that sounds good. I remember when I started taking baseball umpiring more seriously. I began to set my sites on the NCAA Division 1 level. Why? I knew there was no way I could get onto the road to the major leagues, so the next best thing was the highest college level. Pretty cool, right. Wrong.

Sure, when I was talking to people about my umpiring goals it sounded pretty good, and many people were quite impressed. Fortunately I began to see through my own charade. I have been involved in youth sports for a long time. I've coached, I've been the President of leagues, I've been a treasurer and I'm currently an Assistant State Commissioner for Cal Ripken Baseball. Youth sports is where I belong, it is where my heart belongs, not on some collegediamond where the only thing at stake is a high draft spot.

When setting goals it is very important to remember that your goals must be consistent with your values. A goal can not contradict any of your other goals. For example, you can't buy a $750,000 house if your income goal is only $50,000 per year. This is called non-integrated thinking and will sabotage all of the hard work you put into your goals. Non-integrated thinking can also hamper your everyday thoughts as well. We should continually strive to eliminate contradictory ideas from our thinking. Stand on the porch off the master bedroom and see the fog lifting off the mountain. Look down at the garden full of tomatoes, green beans and cucumbers. And off to the right is the other garden full of a mums, carnations and roses. Can you see it? So can your subconscious mind

GOOD TO KNOW ON EMERGENCIES

SECOND Emergency Have you locked your keys in the car? Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cellphone.Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object.
You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other
' remote ' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

THIRD Emergency Hidden Battery Power. Imagine your mobile battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# your mobile will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile next time.
FOURTH Emergency How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: *#06#

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so
even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

FIFTH Emergency - But No Mobile phone required here ATM PIN Number Reversal - Good to Know If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your PIN # in reverse. For example, if your pin number is 1234, then you would put in 4321. The ATM system recognizes that your PIN number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you
the money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to the local

STRESS RELIEF

Ways to boost your energy: Low energy levels could have some hidden causes. Here are some things to watch for. An iron deficiency - Foods that can up your iron include meat, beans and cereals and vitamin C can promote the absorption of iron. Allergies - An allergy can cause a lack of energy. Poor sleep - Not getting enough sleep can zap energy levels.

It is important to get eight hours of sleep but this sleep should also be uninterrupted. If you're having trouble sleeping try exercising during the day. Be sure not to exercise right before you go to bed. Low blood sugar - Be sure to eat a proper breakfast in the morning because when you wake up your body has a burst of energy which requires fueling.

To keep your blood sugar level throughout the day, eat smaller meals and healthier snacks every few hours and also eat before you feel hungry. Avoid too many crabs and sugary foods like sodas and candy. To boost your energy in the middle of that long work day, try taking a 15 minute walk. Fresh air and sunshine will also help. Be sure you drink water. Dehydration can really zap your energy.

Safe 'hogging'

Opt for fresh produce, ensuring that 80% of what you eat comes from the bhajiwallah and not the processed foods counter at the mall. Eat less enough has been talked about on over-eating and safe 'hogging'. Toss away all schedules and dietary plans if you tend to overeat all the time. They useless then. Eat four to five small meals a day rather than two humongous meals complete with desserts helps you in the long run. Period. Be selective and practical if you love food too much to give up.

Sleep more The human body requires sleep of both great quality and quantity. Your career and work schedule may require you to not sleep for much time but then don't dream of a toned body too! Try to sleep between the hours of 10pm and 2am to make the most of your body's hormonal repairs. The hours 2am to 6am are crucial to countering stress. In other words, all sleep is not the same. The timing is important too. Adequate sleep is also known to boost the immune system.

Processed food isn’t cool! The next time you pick something off the mall shelves thinking that you will 'heat it and eat it' later, know that another name for processed food is 'denatured' food. All of the nature has been removed from it in order to make it last longer on the shelves. Do you really want to eat something without any 'nature' in it? Only you can decide that. Foods with colors and flavors and numbers instead of ingredients are more likely to end your life early than extend it.

GET THAT TEENAGE LOOK!

Nostalgia isn’t quite the emotion which you feel when you see teenagers hanging out near colleges nowadays right? It's a frustrated state of jealousy which almost triggers depression inside your mind that you will never have that figure and energy again. Fear not, for some simplistic changes in your lifestyle can rejuvenate that teenage vigor within you, even when you have close to 30 candles on your birthday cake!

Challenge yourself every day Stop convincing yourself that exercising thrice a week is just about okay to 'maintain' your body. That would do just that, not give you the figure you dream of! Bunking exercise - whether at the gym or at home more than thrice a week simple appropriate. Challenge yourself to doing tougher or longer exercises every single day. Your body will tune on its own.

After all, it is a movement machine, move it or lose it.
Do strength-based exercises Strength based exercises are those which stretch your muscles and tone them for more activity. It is apt to load your bones at least thrice a week (but no more) for both men and women. With over 600 muscles in the human body, it just doesn't make sense to train the way most people do by isolating different muscles and bombarding them with laborious moves. Try to find exercises that use as many muscles as you possibly can.

OILY SKIN CONTROLLING CREAM

To extensively remove oily skin that may cause pimples. You will need: Oatmeal Egg white.
Mix the egg white with oatmeal enough to create a creamy paste. Mix thoroughly and apply to face and neck liberally. Leave the mixture for 20 minutes and wash with clean water. Do this as often as needed.

Exercise stimulates the body and aerobic activity before bedtime may make falling asleep more difficult. Taking a hot shower or bath before bed helps bring on sleep because they can relax tense muscles. Avoid eating just before bed. Avoid eat large meals or spicy foods before bedtime. Give yourself at least 2 hours from when you eat to when you sleep.

We all know that. Read a fiction book. It takes you to a whole new world if you really get into it. And then take some time to ponder over the book as you fall asleep. I guess others are different, but sleep with no distractions is best for a clearer mindWater way to look young!Even after all those beauties on Indian television

cinema saying that it is water that they drink which helps get their glowing skin, why don't you believe them?! Glowing skin may be a myth, but drinking clean, fresh water at regular intervals definitely helps your digestive and circulations systems - whatever your age! Less than three to four glasses a day and your organs, your skin, your muscles and even your brain cease to operate effectively. If heading to work, get a bottle of mineral water.

Romance and drama

Some may be drawn in by the perceived romance and drama of a criminal life itself. Just as some people may start out seduced to a life of crime by the power they perceive in street pushers in their neighborhoods, the exploits of cat burglars in movies, or the rare reports of some criminals who always seem to get away with their criminal acts in the news, the artificial mystique manufactured by the media around “Computer Hackers” can inspire the aspirations of the amoral youth with technical talents.

Because of the character of certain online communities, it can be much easier sometimes to feed one’s own delusions of the romance and drama of being a “Computer Hacker” for a longer time than in most other criminal enterprises where the physically gritty, and petty, reality of what they do becomes quickly inescapable. Once fully absorbed within such an insulated, self-reinforcing fantasy life, I don’t know how easy it is to overcome the illusion and realize.

That one has become nothing but a criminal security cracker -- that being a real hacker is about skill and not 1337 h4xx0r nicknames -- without being forcibly disillusioned by getting caught, prosecuted, and imprisoned for one’s crimes. Sabotage Sometimes the purpose of malicious code might be directly targeted at disrupting the operations of some class of people one doesn’t like. While this sort of behavior might seem superficially similar to that of terrorism as described under "Political agitation or to vandalism as described under "Online gangs," it’s not terrorism, and it’s more personal than typical vandalism.

It is a simple criminal act, aimed at a specific target, more akin to assault. People with business interests may do this not for profit or for political purposes, but to damage other businesses’ ability to compete, at least temporarily. Government agencies may do so to try to bully another government into doing something it doesn’t want to do, as appears to have been the case in the Estonian “cyber war.” The motivation to sabotage may even be based on something as petty as personal revenge.

Areas of life

Develop goals in the 6 areas of life: Family and Home Financial and Career Spiritual and Ethical Physical and Health Social and Cultural Mental and Educational Setting goals in each area of life will ensure a more balanced life as you begin to examine and change the fundamentals of everyday living. Setting goals in each area of life also helps in eliminating the non-integrated thinking we talked about in the 2nd step. Write your goal in the positive instead of the negative.

Work for what you want, not for what you want to leave behind. Part of the reason why we write down and examine our goals is to create a set of instructions for our subconscious mind to carry out. Your subconscious mind is a very efficient tool, it can not determine right from wrong and it does not judge. It's only function is to carry out its instructions. The more positive instructions you give it, the more positive results you will get. Thinking positively in everyday life will also help in your growth as a human being. Don't limit it to goal setting.

Instead of writing "A new home," write "A 4,000 square foot contemporary with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths and a view of the mountain on 20 acres of land. Once again we are giving the subconscious mind a detailed set of instructions to work on. The more information you give it, the more clear the final outcome becomes. The more precise the outcome, the more efficient the subconscious mind can become. Can you close your eyes and visualize the home I described above? Walk around the house.

Some resort to online relationships that are easier to handle. Others withdraw and become recluses. Either way, the demands on time, finances, and emotions can cause ongoing stress. Gaining knowledge of the leading causes of stress is important. Using that knowledge to win over unhealthy stress is vital. The teenager becomes a young adult trying to handle the stresses of leaving home, adjusting to college life, and managing finances. Life progresses to first jobs, marriage, children, and so on. Even if you move to a secluded cabin in the woods, stress will follow you.

TIPS FOR GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP

Stick to a schedule. Erratic bedtimes do not allow for your body to align to the proper circadian rhythms. Mum was right when she set a time we always had to go to sleep as kids. Also, make sure you try to keep the same schedule on weekends too, otherwise the next morning; you’d wake later and feel overly tired.Sleep only at night. Avoid daytime sleep if possible. Daytime naps steal hours from nighttime slumber.

Limit daytime sleep to 20-minute, power naps. Exercise. It’s actually known to help you sleep better. Your body uses the sleep period to recover its muscles and joints that have been exercised. Twenty to thirty minutes of exercise every day can help you sleep, but be sure to exercise in the morning or afternoon. This allows for digestion to happen (or at least start) well before you go to sleep so your body can rest well during the night, rather than churning away your food.

Avoid caffeine. It keeps you awake and that’s now what you want for a good night’s sleep. I find as I read more and more, regardless of the book, I get more tired at night and so find it easier to fall asleep. Different for others? Have the room slightly cooler. I prefer this to a hot room. I prefer to turn off the heat and allow the coolness to circulate in and out of the windows. If I get cold, I wear warmer clothes.

It also saves on the bills as you’re not going to require the heat all night long.Sleep in silence. I find sleeping with no music or TV on more easy and restful.. Avoid alcohol before bedtime. It’s a depressant; although it may make it easier to fall asleep, it causes you to wake up during the night. As alcohol is digested your body goes into withdrawal from the alcohol, causing nighttime awakenings and often nightmares for some people.

HEALTHY DIET

Most people I know, want to diet and reduce weight, feel healthy and gain energy. There are so many diet plans in the market that it is difficult to choose the right one. Over the years, I have researched a few and suggest the following to stay healthy. These ideas are common over various diet plans, though the relative emphasis on these steps may differ. The trick is sensible eating with regular light exercise. Restrict carbohydrate and fat intake

most diet plans will suggest that the intake of carbohydrates and fats should be reduced. But not eliminated. A threshold level of carbohydrates is required by the body because they convert to energy but excess gets converted to fat. Similarly small amounts of fat are essential for the maintenance of a healthy body, but excess is bad for the heart and the body. The problem is that most foods which are palatable and enjoyable are carbohydrate and fat rich! So dieting becomes a chore to be hated. But I suggest a little bit of everything is good, it is the excess that is bad.

So add whole grain cereals like brown rice, whole wheat bread, homemade breads made with wheat grain, multigrain bread, porridge, and oats as they help to fill you up. Fast foods like burgers, fries etc also need to be cut out of the diet.

Limit fat intake by reducing intake of red meat, fried foods of all kinds, butter, cream, mayonnaise, cutlets, burgers, fries and other fast foods. In case you cannot eliminate them from your diet, take your favorite food, only once a week. Cook the healthy way. Reduce and eliminate frying. Instead, roast and bake your food. Eat roasted dry fruits or in the raw and avoid salted and sweetened snacks. Reduce white sugar intake

After cleaning your mouth and teeth, take 1 tbsp of oil or a little less (gingerly oil or sunflower oil) and gargle for ten minutes (Move the oil inside the mouth). The oil becomes thin, impure and white in color. Spit that oil and brush your teeth, clean your gums and mouth well. Gargle several times with water. Do not swallow that impure oil. Do this on an empty stomach. This cures many teeth related problems and also whitens your teeth. It must be done regularly.

EFFECTS OF AGING

Aging has an effect on the way we function. After years of toil our organs begin to show wear and tear. This section deals with effects of aging and the ways to combat and delay the process. Two thirds of all people eventually experience some significant loss of mental lucidity and independence as a result of aging.

Heart functions begin to slow down with age. Its pumping power declines and the maximal heart rate also decreases. The dietetic needs vary according to age, sex and occupation.
A balanced diet contains different types of foods in such quantities and proportions that the need for calories, minerals, vitamins and other nutrients is adequately met and small provision is made for extra nutrients to with stand short duration of leanness.

Eating a well balanced diet on a regular basis and staying at your ideal weight are critical factors in maintaining your emotional and physical well-being. Massage your gums with your finger tip to improve blood circulation. Avoid sugary foods and drinks to reduce your risk of tooth decay.
Chew fennel seeds, cardamom seeds or mint to get rid of bad breath. Take 2 cloves after meals to freshen your breath. Chewing tender guava leaves helps to get rid of bad breath. Boil guava leaves in water for 10 minutes. After it cools, filter it and use that water as a mouthwash.

Natural remedy for chapped hands: Wash hands, pat dry and apply vinegar diluted in a little water and put on a pair of soft gloves. Wear gloves while washing dishes to protect your hands from the harsh chemicals. Apply olive oil or sunflower oil .This is an effective home remedy for chapped hands. Mix fresh cream with a tsp of sugar and a little lemon juice and massage your hands till the sugar granules dissolve for soft hands.

Balanced Diet:

The human body requires food to provide energy for all life process and for growth, repair and maintenance of cells and tissues. The dietetic needs vary according to age, sex and occupation. A balanced diet contains different types of foods in such quantities and proportions that the need for calories, minerals, vitamins and other nutrients is adequately met and small provision is made for extra nutrients to with stand short duration of leanness.

The penis is the external male organ that contains many types of tissue, like skin, nerves, and blood vessels. Penile cancer evolves from a disruption in one or more genes in a cell's DNA. Genes control cell activities including division and growth. When cells die, they are replaced by new cells as the body needs them. However, when the genes that orchestrate this natural replacement process are disrupted by chemicals, illness, or other unknown factors, control over cell division and growth is lost.

It is known as the neck of the uterus. The lower end of the cervix has an opening called the external os, and before childbirth it is about 5mm in diameter. It dilates to 10cm during labour to allow for childbirth and never regains its former shape, changing to a slit approximately 7mm long. Normally the cervix is pink in color but turns bluish in pregnancy because of an increased blood supply.

Eating a well balanced diet on a regular basis and staying at your ideal weight are critical factors in maintaining your emotional and physical well-being. Being overweight/under weight can lead to certain chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. Fluid intake in the form of water based drinks is also essential for good health. Water is essential for the correct functioning of the kidneys and bowels. At least 6-8 glasses of plain water should be drunk each day, more in hot weather.

Colorectal Cancer:

Colorectal cancer is the cancer in the large intestine and rectum. It occurs when some of the cells that line the colon or the rectum become abnormal and grow out of control. The abnormal growing cells create a tumor, which is the cancer. Cancer that begins in the colon is called colon cancer and in the rectum is called rectal cancer. It is common in both men and women .The risk of developing colorectal cancer rises after age 50.

The colon, the longest part of the large intestine or large bowel, is a long muscular tube shaped organ connecting the small intestine to the rectum. It extends from the end of the small bowel to the anus, twisting and turning through the abdomen (belly). It is divided into four sections namely, the ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon, and sigmoid colon.

The colon removes water and some nutrients and electrolytes from partially digested food. The remaining material, solid waste called stool, moves through the colon to the rectum and leaves the body through the anus. The rectum is lower part of the colon that connects the large bowel to the anus. The rectum’s primary function is to store formed stool in preparation for evacuation.

Colon along with the rectum is called the large intestine. Cancers affecting either of these organs also may be called colorectal cancer. Most colorectal cancers arise in the sigmoid colon which is the portion just above the rectum. They usually start in the innermost layer and can grow through some or all of the several tissue layers that make up the colon and rectum. Most colorectal cancers grow slowly over a period of several years, often beginning as small benign growths called polyps. Removing these polyps early, before they become malignant, is an effective means of preventing colorectal cancer.

Penile Cancer:

Cancer of the penis or penile cancer is a rare disease in which cancer cells or malignant cells are found on the external skin and in the tissues of the penis. It is generally an aggressive form of cancer that has a tendency to spread.

Penile cancer is relatively rare in Western countries; in some South Asian countries, Africa and South America, however it ranks first among malignancies. Although this type of cancer is rare, it is estimated that more than 75% of people older than 60 years are affected by penile cancer. It usually responds well to treatment, and many patients can be cured.

The resultant uncontrolled mass of tissue is a tumor. The tumor spreads gradually becoming larger in the area of the skin where it first develops. Ultimately, it spreads to deep tissues inside the body of the penis and to lymph nodes in the groin (inguinal area) or pelvis. Different types of penile cancer can develop in each kind of cell.

Mesothelioma:

Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer in which malignant cells are found in the mesothelium. When it occurs, the cells of the mesothelium become abnormal and divide without control or order. They can invade and damage nearby tissues and organs. Cancer cells can also spread to other parts of the body.

Mesothelium is a membrane that covers and protects most of the internal organs of the body. A layer of specialized cells called mesothelial cells lines the chest cavity, abdominal cavity, and the cavity around the heart. These cells also cover the outer surface of most internal organs. The tissue formed by these cells is called mesothelium. The mesothelium of chest is called pleura, of the abdomen is peritoneum and of the pericardial cavity, i.e. the sac-like space around the heart, is called pericardium.

Most cases of mesothelioma begin in the pleura or peritoneum. The fibrous sheets, pleura helps to protect the lungs. There are 2 pleura and they can be called pleural membranes. Pleural space is the gap between them and they produce a lubricating fluid that fills the gap. This helps the lungs to move smoothly in the chest when they are inflating and deflating as we breathe.

Peritoneal or Peritoneum is a smooth membrane, which lines the cavity of the abdomen (stomach). It helps to protect the contents of the abdomen. It also produces a lubricating fluid which helps the organs to move smoothly inside the abdomen as we move around.

Lung Cancer:

Lung cancer or bronchogenic carcinoma, a life threatening disease, is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in one or both of the lungs. While normal lung tissue cells reproduce and develop into healthy lung tissue, these abnormal cells reproduce rapidly and never grow into normal lung tissue. As a result, lump mass known as a tumor are formed, disrupting the lungs and making it difficult to function properly.

Tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Benign tumors may grow causing discomfort and bleeding, but they do not spread to other parts of the body and can be removed. Malignant tumors grow aggressively, spread into other areas of the body and destroy normal tissue. The process of spreading the tumor is called metastasis (secondary tumors) and the areas of tumor growth at these distant sites are called metastases.

Usually lung cancer develops within the wall or epithelium of the bronchial tree. But it can start anywhere in the lungs and affect any part of the respiratory system. Lung cancer mostly affect people between the ages of 55 and 65 and often takes many years to develop. Once it occurs, cancer cells can break away and may spread to the lymph nodes or other tissues in the chest, including the lung opposite to where it originated. It may also spread to other organs of the body, such as the bones, brain or liver.

Leukemia:

Leukemia also known as blood cancer is a malignant disease (cancer) of blood-forming cells in the bone marrow. These deranged, immature cells accumulate within the blood and organs of the body and are unable to carry out the normal functions of blood cells.

The blood is made up of a fluid called plasma and three types of cells, namely white blood cells (WBCs or leukocytes), red blood cells (RBCs or erythrocytes), and platelets (thrombocytes). WBC helps the body to fight infections and other diseases.

RBCs which give blood its color carry oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and take carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs. Platelets help to form blood clots that control bleeding. These blood cells are formed in the bone marrow, the soft, spongy center of bones.

Normally, blood cells are produced in an orderly, controlled way as the body needs them. When leukemia develops, the bone marrow produces large numbers of abnormal white blood cells that do not function properly. It also causes low levels of platelets and hemoglobin, which is found inside red blood cells.

Cervical Cancer:

Cervical cancer or cancer of the cervix is an abnormal growth of malignant (cancer) cells in the cervix. It is the second most common cancer in females and it is successfully curable in the early stages. Cervical cancer occurs most commonly between 40 and 55 years of age.

The cervix is the opening of the uterus connected to the upper vagina. It is known as the neck of the uterus. The lower end of the cervix has an opening called the external os, and before childbirth it is about 5mm in diameter. It dilates to 10cm during lab our to allow for childbirth and never regains its former shape, changing to a slit approximately 7mm long. Normally the cervix is pink in color but turns bluish in pregnancy because of an increased blood supply.

The surface layer of the cervix is made up of two different types of cells, flat cells called squamous cells and tall column-like gland cells called columnar cells. This produces a mucous membrane, but the mucous membrane of the cervix is smooth. The place where squamous and columnar cells meet is known as the transformation zone and this is the area of the cervix where cancer most commonly arises.

The cancer cells may be present in the cervix for 4-10 years before becoming invasive, affecting the deeper tissues and giving rise to symptoms. Even when the cancer is invasive, there is an 80% chance of successful cure. Once it spreads through the pelvis to the vagina, uterus, bladder or rectum, it is much more difficult to cure.

Breast Cancer:

Sometimes abnormal cells develop in the breast tissue, forming a lump or tumor. This is the most common type of cancer in women. The breast has several lobes, which are divided into lobules and end in the milk glands. Tiny ducts run from the many tiny glands, connect together, and end in the nipple. Any tissue in the breast can be affected and it will destroy the nearby tissues also. Usually the cancer arises from tissue that forms milk ducts. There are at least 15 different kinds, depending on the site of development . Both women and men can develop breast cancer, but it is very rare in men.

Breast cancer occurs more commonly in the left breast than the right and more commonly in the outer upper quadrant. The tumor may distort the shape of the breast or the texture of the skin as it becomes larger. It can be detected when it grow large enough to either be felt or seen on a mammogram. The cancer cells spread through the specialized channels in the breast called lymphatic’s to the lymph nodes to form tumors. It also spread or Meta size to the other parts of the body through the blood stream.

It spreads through the right side of the heart to the lungs, and eventually to the other breasts, the chest wall, liver, bone and brain. Spreading of the tumor to other parts of the body can cause death. Breast cancer can be classified by histological appearance and location of the lesion. Aden carcinoma – arising from the epithelium. Intraductal - developing within the ducts infiltrating - Occurring in parenchyma of the breast.

Inflammatory - reflecting rapid tumor growth, in which the overlying skin become edematous, inflamed and in-drafted. Lobular carcinoma in situ – reflecting tumor growth involving lobes of glandular tissue. Modularly or circumscribed - large tumor with rapid growth rate.

Melanoma - Skin Cancer:

Melanoma is the least common but most dangerous and serious type of skin cancer. It can develop anywhere on the body. Most melanomas develop in your skin. But it can also form in the eye and in rare cases in internal organs such as intestine. The skin is the body's largest organ which protects us against sunlight, injury, and infection. It helps regulate body temperature, stores water and fat, and produces vitamin D.

Skin is divided into two main layers namely, epidermis and dermis. Epidermis is the layer nearest the surface of the skin and is mostly made up of flat, scale like cells called squamous cells. Round cells called basal cells lie under the squamous cells in the epidermis. The lower part of the epidermis also contains melanocytes. Dermis is the layer underneath epidermis and it contains blood vessels, lymph vessels, hair follicles and glands.

Malignant melanoma develops in cells known as melanocytes. These cells, which produce a pigment called melanin, lie in the lower part of the epidermis. Melanin gives skin its natural color. Moles are groups of melanocytes that lie close together. They are usually tan, brown or flesh-colored.

Melanoma affects people of all ages but the chance of developing it increases with age. It occurs when melanocytes become malignant (cancerous). When melanoma starts in the skin, it is called cutaneous melanoma and when it occurs in eye, the disease is called ocular melanoma or intraocular melanoma. In men, melanoma is found most often on the area between the shoulders and hips or on the head and neck. In women, melanoma often develops on the lower legs. It may also appear under the fingernails or toenails or on the palms or soles. It rarely appears in the conjunctiva, choroid, pharynx, mouth, vagina or anus.

WORK EXPERIENCE

An entry- level resume cannot compete with resumes of experienced workers in the area of work experience. But don't forget to list internships, voluntary work and summer training that you have undertaken. How you present these is very important. Make sure you clearly define your duty and responsibilities during this training.E.g. "Worked as a summer trainee in India's largest Oil Refinery. I was working for the system control department. Wrote quality reports as well as ISO features for the company." Any projects done for your school or your college should also be mentioned.

DESIGN Follow a simple design, which gives maximum information in the minimum number of pages. Use an easy to read and commonly used font like 'Times New Roman' or 'Verdana.' Limit your font size to 10-11. Do not underline heavily. WORD USAGE Simple language, lucid expression with good grammar is the thumb rule. Watch your tenses carefully. Use short and simple sentences. And never-ever make the mistake of using long words just to impress the recruiter. Flowery words are for speeches; keep them away from your resume.

OUCH! THE TRUTH HURTS There are many things we would rather not write in our resumes. And while writing a resume the strong temptation to stretch the truth (or simply lie through our teeth) can be quite overpowering. But just stomp on the temptation. Most companies opt for a reference check during recruitment. Your resume is considered a legal document and fudging up small details may cause you great embarrassment in your career.
All right! so you've made your resume. But this is not the time to sit back and relax. There are some important post-resume do's left.

CHECK AND RE-CHECK! The most important post resume step: Read and re-read your resume for any mistakes. Check the facts, the grammar, the spellings. After you have checked it, get you parents, friends, and teachers to check it for you. One small mistake may cost you your job.And finally...mom is right you know! Do not procrastinate over anything, specially making your resume. Most fresh graduates prefer to leave the unappealing task of resume making till the last minute i.e the day before their first interview. However, remember that making great resumes take time and effort. And the rewards will last you a lifetime

Examples of good objectives

Junior management position wanted in PROGRAMMING/ engineering field in IT industry. 'GET in position in the manufacturing field. Entry level programmer in a software development company. Marketing position in the FMCG segment of a Multinational Company. Multimedia software development position. Open to Relocation."A position as a Production supervisor with a petro- chemical company.”Summary is the second most important factor that is conspicuous by its absence in resumes of entry-level graduates.

It is a good idea to include a summary of your resume after having mentioned your objective. This sums up your resume in a nutshell and gives you an opportunity to highlight your strengths. It invites the recruiter to read your detailed resume. The summary should consist of 4-5 specific points-either bulleted or in one paragraph.

Sample Summary 1 B.E (Computer Science) from IIT-Delhi, in 2000.Course in Computers Database programmers Oracle 8I & VB6 from PENTASOFT in 2005.Consistently good academic record. Good analytical and communication skills have worked on a curriculum project
"Masters in Computer Application with specialization in J2EE/Web Technologies. Great operational, communication and computer skills. Good academic record throughout. Among the top three students out of a batch of 12 students. Undergone Industrial training in a top petrochemical Company.

Fresher resume doesn't suffer from space constraint. However it is a good idea to include only those educational and professional are qualifications which are relevant. Put your qualifications in a reverse chronological order. I.e. the recent ones first followed by earlier ones. Entry level resume should also mention the names of their school and college, years in which they passed their board examinations. However, include your marks only you have shown a good academic performance.

WINNING RESUME FOR YOUR DREAM JOB

if you are a new entrant in the job market, you need to perfect your resume before applying for your 1st job since you are fresh out of college, use your education as your strong point. Aggregate %, CGPA, accolades, club participation, etc. will be your focus."Do I really need a resume? What should I write in my resume? These are questions which worry every college graduate looking for his/her first job. Welcome to the real world! Yes you really need to make your resume and how you present yourself in that resume will go a long way towards getting you your first job.

It's a myth that resumes of entry-level graduates are unimportant because they lack the 'pull' of experience. Nothing could be further from the truth. Not only is a well-made resume important for every job seeker, it is more critical for entry level graduates. A resume is a mirror of your professional identity. A well-defined resume impresses a recruiter. A sloppy resume immediately proclaims the candidate to be sloppy.

Here are some do's and don'ts on what makes a great resume for graduates seeking entry-level positions in industry. One of the most frequently heard complaints made by recruiters about entry-level resumes is that they lack a specific objective. Resumes of fresh graduates have fuzzy, general objectives or no objective at all. Mentioning a specific objective is by far the most important feature of an entry- level resume. Without goal clarity you are bound to drown in the sea of mediocrity.

The only thing worse than the absence of an objective is a vague objective. Something like "My objective is to work with a dynamic company which will fully utilize my talents…" is a complete no-no! This objective is worthless because it gives the potential employer no idea about your goals or your direction. Your objective should be clear, well-defined and short-not more than 10-12 words.. It should be aimed towards getting a particular position in a specific industry. Thus your objective should talk about the following:

TRADITIONAL

Traditional Chinese characters refer to one of two standard sets of printed Chinese characters. The modern shapes of traditional Chinese characters first appeared with the emergence of the clerical script during the Han Dynasty, and have been more or less stable since the 5th century (during the Southern and Northern Dynasties.) The heteronym "traditional Chinese" is used to contrast traditional characters with other standardized set — simplified Chinese characters, introduced by the government of the People's Republic of China or Mainland China in the 1950s.

Traditional Chinese characters are officially used in the Republic of China or Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. In overseas Chinese communities other than Singapore and Malaysia, traditional characters are most commonly used, although the number of printed materials in simplified characters is growing in Australia, USA and Canada, targeting or created by new arrivals from mainland China. A large number of overseas Chinese online newspapers allow users to switch between both sets. In contrast, simplified Chinese characters are used in mainland China, Singapore and Malaysia in official publications. The debate on traditional and simplified Chinese characters has been a long-running issue among Chinese communities.

THE FUTURE OF ENGLISH

As the USA has led the sprint online, English has been the dominant language on the Internet until now. But as online populations grow in the rest of the world, so does the challenge of other languages on the web. The big question is, will English continue to be used for communication between different cultures, or will the internet split up into self-segregating communities based on preferred language?

In the long term the role of English as a ‘bridge’ language across cultures may give it the upper hand. But this might not help native English speakers - it seems they cannot understand International English as it is spoken by non-native speakers.

Software was started inside a real coffeehouse in the early summer of 1996. Back then, good software to create cool Websites was really hard to find, so the first Website for the coffeehouse was made with hand-coded HTML using Notepad. One day, while chatting with a few regulars about creating Websites, the idea of a simple yet powerful HTML editor was born. We wanted to create a nifty piece of software that would make it easy for people like us to build our own Websites. One of the regulars was a programmer, so we got to work. In August of 1996, the first version of our HTML Editor was released.

Since the coffeehouse already had the www.coffeecup.com domain name, our first software program was called the Coffee Cup HTML Editor, and the company was named Coffee Cup Software. Yep, it happened just like that — the company was named after the HTML Editor and the Website URL. Method of extraction: Expeller Pressed/Unrefined A highly moisturizing oil with an exceptionally high amount of Oleic acids.
